This collection of soft fabric
was inspired by my thoughts
of what a mermaid would
wear for her first days on land.
I imagined that after only knowing
the soft and salty kiss of the ocean,
her delicate skin could cope with
just the gentlest of fabrics.
As a tribute to her former years of
singing and tempting sailors to their
briny ends, she would adorn her skin
with beautiful flourishes.
She would walk and walk.
She would love climbing trees
to talk with owls about
what it was like to fly.
